I had the opportunity to tour the Mitchell park Library in Palo Alto, CA on Wednesday. AIASCV had arranged a joint event with AIASMC and I couldn’t miss touring this LEED project. THey know is going to be LEED gold, they’re hoping to achieve LEED Platinum.

Twenty years in the making this project designed by Group 4 Architecture, Research and Planning doesn’t miss a sustainability trick from night sky cooling to a green roof to Silva Cells for landscape drainage it’s got it all.

Once the library, cafe and community center is complete it’s going to be a destination for for students of sustainable design and set a new standard for the community.
