I attended a tour of the eastern span of the Bay Bridge, sponsored by SMPS SF yesterday. It was a great event and we got to see a view of the bridge that few others will experience and learned a lot about it. Everyone really enjoyed it.

It turns out the reason certain parts were made in China is because that one factory is the only palace in the world that was equipped to do the job and they had the unique expertise required. The vast majority of the materials and fictures were all made here in the US.
