Character and Context
I strive to communicate the essential nature of my subject whether I am photographing a Faberge’ Egg or a residential bathroom room. I identify the unique character of my subject, what makes it noteworthy, special or exciting and incorporate my perceptions into the composition.
When photographing architecture or interior design the context of the spaces or structure are critical to the understanding of their essential nature. It is not necessary to show the environment in which these spaces exist, but it is critical that this context be considered and communicated through the image.
Incorporating my awareness of context into my images is one reason why my photographs are effective at communicating abstract design concepts.
