I send out e-promos every six weeks. This mornings marketing piece is titled “Transition”

This available light image of a staircase in a multifamily residential unit embodies the transitional nature of the space and the project. I was drawn to the geometry of the design and how it was accented by the play of light.

The contrast of the warm tone morning light coming from the skylight above and the cool tones coming from the west facing window to the left of the camera as well as the neutral tone light coming in from the kitchen of camera to the right all act to enhance the geometry and the transitional nature of the space.

As an architectural photographer I focus my attention on the conceptual aspects of a project while shooting it. I am drawn to the drama of these little detail shots.

Created 2007 for Kwan Henmi Architecture Planning, Inc. at the Icon @ Doyle project in Emeryville, CA.
