Yesterday, having experienced the worst example of customer service in recent memory, I was thinking about my customer service. I was thinking about what I do and more importantly why I do it.

Unlike many people in business I don't give my clients the best customer service I can because I want their money. I give them the best customer service I can because they deserve it. I give them the best customer service I can because I know what it feels like to get bad customer service. I give my clients the best customer service I can because I take pride in offering them the respect, dignity and courtesy I would like to receive.

The Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would have others do unto you - is the core of my customer service policy. It always has been and it always will be.

My clients realize, and appreciate the value of the customer service I offer because it reduces their stress and makes their lives a little easier. They know that if they have a question, concern or a problem they can turn to me and I will help them by answering their questions directly, addressing their concern and/or solving their problem. We're teammates, their problem is my problem, the fact that they have a problem is not.
